Carlos Paredes, l’uomo “dalle mille dita”, attraverso le sue geniali composizioni, ha contribuito all’evoluzione del Fado classico di Coimbra “affacciandosi a prospettive vicine al jazz, alla musica classica non solo di gusto romantico, ma anche nei suoi esiti più arditi e novecenteschi. (…) Paredes ha inseguito e pienamente conseguito l’obiettivo di rendere la guitarra uno strumento autosufficiente, in grado di produrre armonie complete e non soltanto linee melodiche dalla forte ispirazione”...
